Dr. Mike Sheard, MBA, DProf
Mike Sheard is currently manager of Security Operations and Emergency Management at WorkSafeBC. He is a retired police officer from the Delta Police, and prior to that he was with the London City Police. He holds a number of awards for excellence in crime prevention and community policing. He has taught at the Justice Institute of BC, the Canadian Police College in Ottawa, and lectured extensively across Great Britain and the United States.
Since retiring from policing, Mike worked as the director of security at the University of British Columbia. He has also worked at the Financial Institutions Commission of BC and Credit Union Central BC. He is a consultant in the areas of governance, principle-centered leadership, crime prevention through environmental design, tactical communications and violence prevention. He currently teaches criminal justice programs part time in the criminology faculty at Kwantlen University.
Mike holds an MBA from Royal Roads University and a doctorate in criminology from the London Metropolitan University in the UK.
